»Velamed GmbH received the Ergonomics Award 2017 of the Ergonomics Competence Network e.V. for its measurement concept „Multiparametric Mobile Workplace Analysis“. (ECN) in the category „Innovation“.
The „Multiparametric Mobile Workplace Analysis“ is a holistic measurement concept with the purpose of uncovering unfavorable behavioral or behavioral characteristics at the workplace. With the portable measuring system „Noraxon myoMETRICS Portable Lab“, wireless kinematic, kinetic and electromyographic data are recorded directly at the workplace. The measuring person is free to move around and can follow his or her usual work routine. The integration of the „Portable Lab“ into a single measuring case ensures quick setup on site and fast readiness for measurement. This also leads to a low loss of working hours. Furthermore, the measuring case can also be used in rough working environments.
In practice, this allows a holistic analysis of posture, muscular strain and the forces to be applied to certain activities and work processes. Through acoustic or visual live biofeedback of selected parameters (e.g. head posture, neck muscles), the real-time stresses are shown to the person concerned. Interventions (e.g. detonation of the musculature through biofeedback training) and recommendations (e.g. workplace redesign, use of lifting aids) are developed in a targeted manner and evaluated by means of pre-post-analyses.
