Scientific Biomechanical Analysis in Sports

Application in Sporting Environment

Typically, running analyses are conducted with normal video cameras. In contrast, we use special cameras that capture more than the usual 25 pictures per second. This is necessary to document the running style appropriately in detail. Additionally, the movement can be captured with an opto-electronical system. One advantage hereby is that the movement can be recorded in detail and in 3D. Thus, more exact statements can be made concerning the movement pattern. Depending on the equipment of the rooms, various sports can be analysed, e.g tennis service or golf striking. Each movement can be dismantled into its sequences.
